Carefully inspect the areas of your home that are most prone to fire: the kitchen, electric appliances and wiring, and the heating system. Look for other hot spots throughout the home - such as flammable items near heat sources, frayed or worn cords or poor ventilation sources.
Install and maintain smoke alarms throughout your home.
Keep ABC type fire extinguishers in your kitchen and garage.
Do not run your clothes dryer when you are not home.
Do not leave cooking unattended.
Do not overload electrical outlets.
